Suggest Treatment For Presence Of Blood In Mucus

Question: Last Thursday i was clearing my chest of mucus when i noticed there was a little bit of blood in it. I cleared my chest twice more and the blood was gone. I did see my doctor the next day and i'm under observation. I am 21 years old and a non-smoker. I'm not sure if i have just noticed these or being a hypochondriac but now i can sometimes feel tiny pains around my chest but not when breathing in, just at random moments. Furthermore i have had bad flatulence and heartburn as well. Is it possible that i have lung cancer at this age?
Brief Answer:
possibility of cancer very low
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
It is extremely rare to have lung cancer at this age, that too in a never smoker. One bout of streak of blood in sputum may be because of various other reasons like throat infection.
So I think that the plan of observation is fine.
Hope this helps. I will be available for follow up.
