Question : Can someone please help!! I'm in the most severe pain I've EVER been in my life. My right ear has so much pressure I can't hear out of it. The inside ofmy ear is completely closed. It started hurting Friday evening as I was feeding my horses and it felt like something was in my ear.i went to stick my finger in it and felt what I believe some type of bug I felt a pinch feeling from inside of ear. Saturday is started hurting really bad. I've put peroxide in it. Now like said it's completely closed up in can't sleep from the pain and the back of the ear is swollen and very hard. it seems as if there's an abcess that's formed in my ear I don't know if I was bite by a bug or if the Dr could even do anything to help me. the pressure and pain is unreal! Please any advice of what this could be or what to do!?

Brief Answer:
Could be due to blocked Eustachian tubes.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Our ear has three parts: the external ear (upto the ear drum), the middle ear (with internal connection on either side to the throat) and the inner ear (containing the hearing apparatus). It seems that the problem is in the middle ear. You probably have caught a cold and the thickened mucus has blocked the tubes connecting the throat with the middle ear. As a result the difference in pressure between the middle ear and the outside is causing the pain. Take steam inhalation at least twice or thrice a day. It will help in diluting the mucus and would help in resolving the problem. Also take some antiallergic like cetirizine once daily for the next few days.

You have not done the right thing by pouring peroxide. It could damage the ear drum and cause worse problems. I would suggest you to visit an ENT doctor to make sure that the ear drum is not damaged.
