For the past week I've been feeling a pressure or tightness in my lower left abdomen. I've notced as well that I have been gassy as well. It doesn't hurt at all, it's more of a discomfort.

Brief Answer:
Tests and medicines accordingly.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/25 - discomfort, feeling pressure or tightness in the lower left abdomen- for the past week - gases - tried Gas X, tums and Ibuprofen.

Please tell me a few more details so that I can assist you more.
- Are the stools normal? If not, please tell about consistency, color, smell or any other abnormal thing.
- Any other symptoms that you would like to share like feverish, nausea, vomiting, weakness?
- Has an outside food or flu to start with?

I would advise you the following:
- Get the stool tests done.
- Test of urine and blood to see for sugar, liver function tests or so.
- Ultrasonography of the abdomen.

If the stool shows infection or so, a 5-day course of an antibiotic, probiotics and supportive medicines can give you a cure.

Stool is softer than usual, the best way I can describe it is that it looks fluffy.Color seems to be light brown. Other symptoms I have experienced is nausea and episodes of left side chest pains.

Brief Answer:
Follow the advise already given above.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your feedback.
Noted the history of softer fluffy stools and nausea. Episodes of left sided chest pains.

This too indicates the same thing as I discussed above, please follow up the advise and you will be fine.
Ask your Doctor to examine you for the tenderness on the chest's painful area, if there is pain on pressure this is like costochondritis and will settle with the medicines. But if no tenderness a precautionary EKG should always be done to be sure that the heart is normal.
