Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I am Dr.Barani and I am pleased to assist you.

This discomfort behind the center of the chest is due to gastroesophageal reflux only.

Continue taking pantoprazole.
In addition to medications lifestyle and dietary changes are also important to control the symptoms.

1. Weight reduction if obese
2. Avoiding alcohol and smoking ( if you have these habits)
3. Avoiding citrus. coffee, carbonated beverages, peppermint, fatty food, onion
4. Eating smaller but more frequent meals
5. Going to bed at least 2-3 hours after food
6. Sleeping with head elevated position or in the left lateral position.

I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards,
Dr.Barani
