                                            Question : Have small belly button hernia it is about the size of a dime it is soft does not hurt except if i poke it at times. .it is protruding  about 1/4 in.but no pain. Had DR look at it and she said leave it alone. since I have ITP . My two brothers have had then and my Mom and Dad  also My Dad is 95 and still has his unrepaied.. How dangerous is it if I just leave it alone.. any sujestions? ..

Such small sized hernia is unlikely to cause any problem. You may just observe for increase in size.
If the hernia remains same no surgery needed. If it is increasing in size then surgery would be needed as complications may occur.
Don't worry belly button hernia are less likely to increase in size if left and also they are less likely to go for complications. So you may safely continue without surgery.
