Brief Answer:
Management of psoriasis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, a dermatologist.
In case your psoriasis is not acute and not severe it can be controlled with topical medicines.
In psoriatic patients I recommend them to use a combination of potent topical steroid and salicylic acid combination ointment like halobetasol and salicylic acid ointment or clobetasol propionate and salicylic acid ointment on the affected areas twice daily along with frequent and liberal application of moisturising lotion containing white soft paraffin on the entire body atleast 2-3 times in a day.
Besides this I recommend them to take antihistaminic like tablet levocetrizine 5 mg once daily at bedtime if the lesions are associated with itching.
For scalp involvement coal tar- salicylic acid containing shampoo is to be used twice weekly along with application of lotion containing halobetasol and salicylic acid on the affected areas twice daily.
These all are prescription drugs and should be taken after seeing the doctor in person.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
