So i had no real mental health knowledge, and i had been trying to work it out, but i somehow missed delusion disorder, and been gaining more and more BPD understanding and could rule that out, and a psych who ive done work for mentioned possible pyschosis or delusion, Delusion was such a perfect fit. Really such a relief to know as you dont want to have the feeling of are we going to be alright one day. BUt there aint nithing that scary fot a family with delusion disorder, She wont get help and i need to get all our lives on track, This delusion disorder caused some problem for us.. she has had it for a long time and knowing why she talking rubbish is so much better than what the fuck is wrong with the women

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for follow up and vital details.

Your psychiatrist may be right with diagnosis of delusion disorder but I rarely see someone presenting with delusional disorder at 38 years of age.In addition in the delusional disorder the person have some suspicion about surroundings such as faithfulness of partner, infestation of insects, feeling that some of the well known person in love with her or people are against her and like.In last two narrations I do not see any evidence in this regard and I think diagnosis of delusional disorder is unlikely.

Psychosis is more a possibility as constant abuse, failure to seek help and irrelevant talking can be explained on this. It is possible that her irrelevant talks are arising due to her psychosis. Despite the all odds I like to say that in modern medicine psychosis is a treatable condition and we can expect a better tomorrow. I understand it is never easy to have a psychiatric patient in house but with proper treatment I hope that she will be better and sane.

I hope this answers you further.
