Question : My mom has got swollen finger with pus at the end of the finger tip.
Problem exactly similar to http://YYYYY.yy/medical-conditions/nails/paronychia-acute/
This has been there for the last 3 days and to us reasons are unknown.

Please suggest what could be the reason and remedy for the same.

Pus needs to be drained...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If it has a pus pointing it needs to be drained. Only this alone will relieve the pain completely. It's a simple procedure and will not hurt her much. Further complications are minimal. Therefore I will suggest she visits a general surgeon.

In the meanwhile, I will start her on pain medication diclofenac 75mg twice a day after food. Antibiotic like augmentin 625mg will also be necessary,
