Question : Hi This is XXXX, My heart beat rate is more than the normal. Dr has prescribed me Concor 5 I am also having Amlozar 50 mg for Blood Pressure. For colosteral I am taking Ecospirin 75 daily. Is it OK

                                    Brief Answer:
I would advise split of Amlozaar.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney.
I understand your concern.
Amlozzar contains Amlodipine and Metoprolol
Concor contains Bisoprolol.
Both Bisoprolol and Metoprolol belong to same group of drug known as beta blockers. Since you are already on Metoprolol , I won't advise you to take Bisoprolol.
Actually Amlodipine also causes increase in heart rate.
I would advise you to take Amlodipine alone. And take Metoprolol alone. Don't take the combination.
The dose of Metoprolol would be adjusted according to the heart rate achieved by you.
I hope it helps.
If you have any further query, please ask me.
