Question : Yes. my husband has a bad case of poison ivy. He doesn't have a doctor' so r poisonhe went to unityt care urgent care, and a nurse took care of him and gave him prednisone for 3 days. He stiythe right medicine foget ou have any idea how he can ll has the ras since last saturday and it won,t gfo away. Do you know why hes not better? meeds meds.

Thanks for the query

Your nurse has given the correct treatment for poison ivy. I recommend that the steroids be continued for 1 week and slowly tapered and stopped over 1 more week

One other alternative would be to give tab avil morning and night for 7 days.

I also suggest that calamine lotion be applied over the rash for soothing feeling of the rash
