Suggest Treatment For Rashes And Bumps Above Right Hip,

default
Posted on Thu, 27 Aug 2015
Question: For a couple months now I have had a rash appear above right hip and just above waistline. The first episode was several scattered small bumps over a 2 square inch area. It itched somewhat with a small amount of associated pain. The rash was kind of blotchy also over the area. The small bumps are about 1/16 of an inch in size, red in color, and scabby somewhat in nature. After about 3 weeks it almost completely disappeared but now has reappeared just not over as large an area. Any ideas? thanks

Brief Answer:
Kindly provide close up good quality pictures

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
I have seen the attached pictures .
Although the picture quality is not that great ,but the lesions primarily look like an eruption of herpes .
If possible ,click some good quality close up pictures of the affected areas and upload them here on this page.
Also please tell if the lesions have re appeared in the same area as earlier .
Is there primarily itching or pain ?
Have you noticed any fluid filled vesicles?

I am sure I will be able to help you better once you provide me the pictures along with the above details.

I have attached two pictures that I hope have better resolution.
Regarding herpes, I have always had fever blisters break out on my lips in the past. The last year they have only appeared on my lips maybe twice and very minor. The size and severity has not been nearly the same. The only thing I can attribute it to is I've been taking an aloe vera supplement for the same period of time and understand it has anti-viral properties. Never had a herpes breakout at any other location besides lips. They do itch with very little discomfort. They itch more than anything. At times they do seem to have a pussie or clear liquid in them. Could very well be herpes I guess, but have never had anything like this before....thanks

The darker red spots are scabs from scratching

Brief Answer:
Healing rash ,apply antibiotic cream

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Thanks for the pictures and details.

Owing to the appearance of the lesions ,there are two possibilities that I can think off.
The lesions are either healing lesions of herpes or they could even be superficial folliculitis.
In either case ,you need to keep the affected area clean and dry and apply a topical antibiotic cream like mupirocin or neosporin over the area twice daily .
Avoud touching the affected area too much.
Scabbing indicates healing ,so since the lesions are already in healing stage, nothing else needs to be done .
If they develop anytime again ,see a nearby doctor as early as possible to rule out or confirm a herpetic eruption.

Hope it helps
