Brief Answer:
allergy or yeast

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
This could be an allergy or could be an allergic reaction.
You are right to try and eliminate various things that may be causing an allergic reaction.
A non-sedating antihistamine like claritin or zyrtec is also a good idea. You can take benadryl but it may make you drowsy.
If you think it could be yeast (this is extremely itchy, more so than allergy), you can try a very thin layer of an antifungal medication on the rash.
There are many over the counter antifungal creams that you could try.
Keep the skin cool and use lotion on it. Dry and hot skin is more itchy.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
