Question : My upper torso (under arms to above belly button) feels very sensitive like I have a major rash but there are no outward signs of a rash. This is on left and right sides and on my back. It is painful to wear clothes when I'm moving around but when I'm stationary and clothing is not rubbing against the sensitive area, there is no problem. What do you think.
Brief Answer:
Most likely a sub clinical varicella zoster virus activation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to subclinical reactivation of herpes zoster virus. In this there won't be visible rash with increased sensitivity or pain.
Antiviral therapy with famcyclovir orally and acyclovir cream for local application will be helpful. If symptoms are trouble some then corticosteroid will be helpful.
This can persist for 4 weeks. A consultation with your neurologist is well appreciated.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
