Suggest Treatment For Rectal Pain, Loose Stools And Severe Intestinal Gas
Question: Pain in lower rectal area for about 3-4 weeks. Have seen my Dr. Thinks it's tenesmus (sp?) No blood in stool. Digital prostate exam normal. Have had loose stools. My PSA has alway been zero. Set up for colonoscopy in a week or so. Was told high fiber diet which has led to incredible gas ALL THE TIME. Not sure what else to do at this point. Thanks.
Also have had incredible constant gas.

Hi and thank you for asking on HCM!
You are reporting to have had loose stools and abdominal gass recently.
Your symptoms may be related with :
- gastro intestinal infection
- large bowel tumoral issues
The fact that you have done colonoscopy 4 years ago and it was nommal is a positive finding. It means that your symptoms are not usually related witb tumoral issues.
To my opinion you should use probiotics and continue premedication for colonoacopy.
with regards to abdominal gass you can use simethicone to get relieve from it till at colo oscopy procedure.

as a follow up, urine normal also and no indication of parasite in stool exam. No family history of colon rectal disease.
