Do I need to have a referral to see a general surgeon for this problem. I don't really understand how to go about things. The reason why I asked about seeing an obygn is because I have an upcoming appointment this coming week with an obygn doctor.

Brief Answer:
OBG

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I understand your concern. This is how you should go about it

1. You will need a referral to the general surgeon.
2. Until your appointment with the OBG try the lifestyle modification that I a jotted down for you
3. Mention that you are having this issue and get the referral from the OBG. I am sure your doctor will examine and do the needful.

I wish you good health and a speedy recovery
