default
Posted on Thu, 27 Apr 2017
Question: I get a kot of dark sensitive bumps on my buttocks,my inner thighs and my back upper thighs. Sometimes it goes away and then another random one comes out, it starts off as a small pimple and eventually gets alittle bigger and very sensitive when pressed on or touches, I popped one once and puss came out and I was told it could be cysts, but this problem I've had for years. I keep myself clean, and the rest of my body doesn't have acne. How can I make these random bumps go away?

Brief Answer:
Capsule doxycycline and mupirocin cream

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
According to your complaints it seems you are having recurrent folliculitis which is inflammation of the hair follicles.
To avoid recurrences I would recommend you to take antibiotic like capsule doxycycline 100 mg once daily for 2 weeks and apply topical antibiotic like mupirocin cream on the affected areas twice daily.
Also apply the topical antibiotic in the nostrils, external ears, finger and toe web spaces, umblicus and perianal area twice daily for 3-4 weeks as they are the common carriage sites of bacteria. This will help in avoiding recurrences.
These are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
