Posted on Wed, 14 Oct 2015
Question: I have been diagnosed with inflammation of the abdominal fascia. Predisone treatment worked , but symptoms returned quickly. I have had 5 abdominal surgeries in the last 4 years. Esophageal cancer, hernia, feeding tube, emergency adhesion. I believe the source of the inflammatiom are the surgeries. What can I do. My MD simply has me taking pain pills now? Thank XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
MRI abdomen will help to guide you therapeutically.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I understand your concern.

Frequent steroids and analgesics can cause a large degree of side effects for your age.

Frequent surgeries can cause such symptoms.

The best investigation at this point would be an MRI abdomen to accurately assess the state of abdominal muscles and fascia.

Further management is based on the test results.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
