Question: Hello; I'm XXXXXXX a quadriplegic C-6 complete 22 years post injury. I had pneumonia last month; fought it off with Levaquin. I believe that I am coming down with it again. With a Stage 3 skin sore on my lower back... I'm wondering if there might be a connection and what measures I can take to get rid of them. . I live a clean lifestyle.....
Any advice you could get to me would be most appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Do you do regular respiratory physical therapy?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this recurrent pneumonia attacks. Given your condition, it makes it difficult to clear up secretions from the lungs The stagnation is responsible for the increased susceptibility to infections. This must be a very disturbing condition to deal with. I understand your concerns and they are genuine.

I will advise that you practice regular respiratory physiotherapy like breathing deep in and out, breathing into a bottle containing water, etc. This would ensure that most of the secretions and all the entire lungs are opened reducing chances of a possible infection.

I hope this helps. I wish you well and understand your plight. Keep a positive mindset. Feel free to ask for more information and clarification if need be.
