Suggest Treatment For Recurring Bacterial Vaginosis And Yeast Infection

default
Posted on Thu, 9 Jun 2016
Question: My wife and I have been "ping ponging" some sort of infection for a year now. We have been tested twice and I have been to a urologist. We have been told that we are fine. However, we are very healthy people and we know when something is wrong. My wife finally through another procedure was told that she has Bacterial Vaginosis. Is it possible that we have been giving this back and forth the entire time? I am non circumcised and we have given yeast infections to each other in the past.

Brief Answer:
BV does not transmit, easily treatable

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Bacterial vaginosis is the commonest vaginal infection and the reason is imbalance between good bacteria and bad bacteria down there. Male partners usually dont get affected by BV and do not need treatment as per cdc guidelines. SO this repeated infection in your case are at lest not due to that. However yeast can be transmitted and may cause male partner symptoms will all other STD panel clear.

All you need to do is abstain from coitus for a while, avoid doucing, adapt good toilet and coital habits, Its very easy to treat. She will need some antibiotics with it as well.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and her dont forget to close the discussion please.

That is what I have been told. However, I have read conflicting case studies and incidents online over the last few days. It seems uncircumsized men can indeed carry the bacteria. We have ruled out everything else and BV is the only thing she keeps testing positive for. My wife works in the lab at the hospital, is very aware of the remedies, and practices good hygiene. We are both educated people and have been bewildered by this for a year now. I think we have finally found the problem. I think it is now my job to help educate the public. Too many Dr.'s go by the book on this one. If our antibiotic and probiotic remedies solve this issue I will definitely send you an email so you can use our case for future reference. Thanks for your help.

I sure would love to have the followup regarding improvement in health. And yes uncircumcised foreskins may harbor bacteria and may lead to repeated infections. Why dont you consider therapeutic circumcision , this way one big communication of infection will be resolved and odds of recurrence of infection will dramatically reduce.

Talk to your doctor and let them decide what is best for you.
