Suggest Treatment For Recurring Bladder Cancer
Question: Bleeding stopped soon after I contacted you . Fine last three weeks. My last biopsies were negatve, but my urologist feels I should still have cystoscopies twice a year. He usually sees some mild inflammation. He feels in situ bladder cancer can come back. How likely is this? Over the past several years , I have had several series of BCG treatments which seems to have helped.
Brief Answer:
Cystoscopy at frequent is always safe .
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks fr follow up .
Cancer of the bladder has tendency to recur hence we always advise Cystoscopic review every six months for 2-3 years to be rest assured that it has not recur again.
If Urologist suspects to it recur again you may need to fulgurate it again .
Do not worry as long as it remains in situ. There is no harm in doing repeated fulguration .
Thanks and Regards.
