Question : Hi,

My nephew is frequently suffering from Cold & fever some times cough too.
Very often like every 15 - 20 days. He is 4 year old now. We consulted many doctors but no use, Same problem repeating very frequently .

Could you please suggest me to whom you want to consult , to cure this problem permanently .

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It is not uncommon to see frequent infections in children below 5 years. The cause is most often immature immunity (which is developing), improper personal hygeine, easy exposure and some times certain nasopharyngeal condition such as adenoids. If his pediatrician have evaluated him and not found any concerning medical conditions, then I think you shouldn't be overly concerned. Most children outgrow this problem after 5 years of age.

That being said, I expect the child to be evaluated by a pediatrician. Detailed examination of nasopharyngeal cavity, detailed systemic examination and blood hemogram and serological test (if necessary) should have been done. In case those are not performed, you can discuss with a pediatrician.
