Question : I have nasal cold, mild sore throat but 101 fever. Fever comes down via sinarest and Solo but comes back again in 4 to 5hours.Appetite is almost nil. Should I continue same medicine
Brief Answer:
Antibiotics, gargles, blood tests, sinus X-rays.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. Since the fever returns, I will recommend that you request your physician to add a broad spectrum antibiotic and a medicated gargle such as Betadine.
2. Even in viral fevers, this will help prevent secondary bacterial infection.
3. With these medication, rest and adequate hydration, you should be better soon.
4. If the fever persists or increases, get a routine blood test and sinus x-rays done.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any follow up queries, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
