Dentist / oral surgeon evaluation is necessary
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
From your description it seems your wife has recurring apthous ulcers. The cause for recurrence is sometimes unknown. However at times they are associated to nutritional deficiency, immune status, infection, stress and so on. In a few occasions the ulcers are secondary to bite injuries.
At the moment we can treat her during symptoms with use of vitamin supplements and topical agents such as dologel CT. Encourage her to eat healthy balanced diet. Drink plenty of fluids and stay stress free.
It would also be worthwhile to consult a doctor - dentist / oral surgeon. He/she can rule out any associated cause as discussed above. Perhaps when we know the causes, we can devise a good plan of action.
Hope this answered your question.
Regards
