Question : Hi:
My name is XXXXX. Over the past few years I have had a terrible rash appear in the summer under my arms. My doctor in Newcastle, XXXXXXX said that it was a strep infection and she prescribed a cream which cleared it up. Recently I moved to Port Moody, B.C.. I got the same rash under one arm and in my crotch and the doctor I saw at the walk-in clinic prescribed a cream for a fungal infection. It sort of goes away but returns quickly sometimes after a day of walking or sweating. I am 3/4 through the cream he gave me and I have used it sparingly but I don't think it is working.

Brief Answer:
Additional antifungal tablet would help
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
The infection sounds like a fungal infection from your description and the response to antifungal cream. Since you are getting recurrent infection, it would be better if you take an oral antifungal like Flucanazole which is taken once a week. You can continue the cream if required.
