Question : I have a reoccurring rash on my face. Red splotches. Does not seem like roseacea. It will be there on a given day and then go away for a period of time.

Red splotches on face suggest photo aggravated lesions.
It can be either polymorphic light eruption or rosaceae.
I would like to know whether you have any rashes on other parts of body ?
Is there photosensitivity ?
Is there a seasonal variation ?
Please answer the above and upload a photograph of the involved area.
This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis.

Is there photosensitivity ? No
Is there a seasonal variation ? not seasonal.
I have applied a topical ointment (Cortisone 10) it seems to have made it feel better. I will be uploading a pic for you. Note that it actually is in my ear.

Thanks for the follow up and photograph.
It's looking like mild rosaceae.
I treat such cases with topical metronidazole cream in night and sunscreen in day.
You can try this for s week and see response.
