Question: I'm a healthy 65 year old woman. This afternoon, while watching TV, I had recurring sharp pain under my right collarbone. It's continued till now, but lessened in strength. When I take a deep breath or bend over it hurts down to my stomach. I have a trip scheduled tomorrow, so I can't be sick! Lying on my side doesn't hurt. Lying flat with my shoulders and head elevated does have pain.

Brief Answer:
Could be muscle pull

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
Going by your description , to me it appears that you have pulled your back / chest muscles which causes pain when active or in action.
I suggest pain killers ,muscle relaxants and application of local analgesic cream. Don't exert on your right side like bending on right side or twisting movements.
Hope for early recovery and pleasant travel. Please feel free to ask any other question.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
