Either eczematous rash or intertrigo, answer few questions
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it is either an eczematous rash or intertrigo which is due to inflammation of the body folds.
I need to ask you few questions:
What is the duration of this rash?
Are you having itching or irritation on the affected area?
Have you used or applied anything on the scrotal skin?
Are you staying in hot humid area?
Kindly revert with the answers.
Regards
Dr Asmeet

                                    Hello
Yes I have been in a hot humid environment for the last 3 weeks ... Have used some lamsil as I thought perhaps it was fungal
I am starting to wonder if the hotel used something that has reacted with me to wash my underwhelm and has caused inflammation
What would you recommend
And yes it is tending to burn

                                    Brief Answer:
Looks like inflammation, cortisone cream and antihistaminic tablet
Detailed Answer:
It seems to be inflammation due to hot humid weather.
In such cases I usually recommend my patients to apply mild steroid like cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily for 5-7 days along with antihistaminic like tablet Chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg once daily at bedtime for 5-7 days.
This will resolve the rash.
Besides this stay in cool airy environment, wear loose cotton clothes including the underwear and don't use soap on the affected area till the time it resolves.
