Shingles
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
Your daughter has started with a rash in your side and underarm area. The picture you submitted shows that your daughter has Shingles. This is caused by either a prior infection with chickenpox or the chickenpox vaccine. I recommend that she be seen by her medical provider as there are oral antiviral medication that she should take to help reduce the rash and prevent pain.
I would call her provider and tell them she has shingles and that she should needs to be seen today. If they can't see her then take her to an urgent care center. The earlier she gets treated the less likelihood she will have complications.
I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again with your health care concerns and questions
Shingles
Detailed Answer:
Yes she has shingles and she could get it at any age. She may have had the chickenpox vaccine as part of her immunizations and that is how she would get shingles.
No matter how she got it she needs to be seen today and started on the proper antiviral therapy.
