Question : Hi Doctor My 7 years old has suddenly developed red rashes over lips. pic enclosed. what to be done
Brief Answer:
Lip lick dermatitis, cortisone cream & moisturising lotion
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have reviewed the attached photograph and it seems she has developed lip lick dermatitis.
It usually occurs in children who have the habit of licking the lips, in children with dry skin or personal and family history of eczema, allergic rhinitis and asthma.
If I was her treating doctor I would recommend her to apply topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily along with frequent and liberal application of a moisturising lotion containing white soft paraffin on the entire lips 3-4 times in a day.
