Question : I have what appeared to be a rash on my penis but was 7 even red spots. They are dying down now. Could they be a bite?

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have red spots on glans penis.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Did you have sex or masturbated recently before these spots appeared?

Red spots are most likely to be due to infection of glans penis (Ballanitis).

You need to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefexime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily.along with topical antibiotic ointment like Neosporin twice daily.

I hadn't have sex or masturbated for a couple of weeks. The spots are not on the glans but on the shaft skin, just to the side. They are red. They were sore to start but not now.

The spots could be what is called as Fordyce's spots .These are due to accumulation of sebum beneath the skin.

They fade away within a week and do not require any treatment .

Ensure to wash genitals with warm water twice daily.
