Suggest Treatment For Red Spot On Penis

default
Posted on Mon, 10 Aug 2015
Question: I just realized I have a red spot on the bottom portion of my penis shaft, it's not a blister or lesion. It doesn't hurt or isn't painful. It's more red when penis is erect or I stretch the skin. When flaccid, it's far less noticible. I have attached pictures. I am obviously very concerned right now.

Brief Answer:
Nothing worrisome,watchful waiting strategy advised...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

I have gone through your medical history carefully and looked at the picture you provided and noted the red spot.

To my impression, it seems to be related to possible:
- hair root inflammation perhaps after shaving (if you do shave that area)
- or allergy to any new detergent or personal hygiene product you might have used recently
- contact dermatitis is another possibility due to friction when wiping with a hard towel

In all cases, that is nothing serious. In such cases, I advise my patients to keep a good personal hygiene, have always safe sex and wait and see changes for the next days.

Hope it answered to your question!
