Suggest Treatment For Red Spots On The Left Bicep

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Jan 2017
Question: I had two small red spots appear overnight, on my inner left bicep, one day before Christmas. I at first thought it might be spider bite as that has happened before, but it did not progress like a spider bite, with no apparent redness spreading or seeping bite points. I still have it and it is very itchy, I have tried a few essential oils on it like oregano, and frankincense and also rubbing aloe vera on it.... none seem to help. It has a dryish texture now to it, at first is was more round, but now seems to be flattening out and dry but terribly itchy. Was going to the doctor today but they are still on holidays... !Any ideas? I am not on any medications, just a daily vitamin by melaleuca, and I am taking XXXXXXX Vanderhaeghe"s Estro smart and SEXsmart, the latter having l-arganine 333 mg, tribulus terrestris 50mg (45% steroidal sapponins), choline (bitartrate) 25 mg, pantothenic acid (calcium) 25 mg, gingko biloba extract (leaf) 13 mg, eurycoma longifolia (root) 8mg. The other ESTROsmart I have been taking with out any reactions for quite a long time. I have gone off the sex smart (2 x day), I do not take any other meds. We live in Canada and its middle of winter, and do not have grass outside, but I do have one little dog living in the house,, and two big dogs living in the porch, i keep their bedding clean always. We have never had trouble with any bed bugs or fleas from the dogs.... Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Either eczematous dermatitis or insect bite reaction

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have gone through your complaints and reviewed the attached photograph.
It is not looking like any reaction to medicines.
It looks like either eczematous dermatitis or some insect bite hypersensitivity reaction apart from spider.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply cortisone cream on the affected area twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg twice daily for 7-10 days.
This should resolve it.

What strength of cortisone cream should be used,?... and would I need a prescription for it, if it isn't something that is common on the pharmacy shelves.
