Question : Hi Dr. Rynne,
I have a couple of symptoms.
I have a red swollen, tender area on my shin of my right leg. Three days ago I became feverish and very achy but most of that has passed. I am very dizzy and can barely stand and I have not eaten anything much in two days of which, I have mostly been in bed. I have a picture of the sore on my leg and I could text it to you. Lastly, I am in St. XXXXXXX MO, and am flying home tomorrow morning and would rather seek help when I get home. I don't really want to go to the hospital here. Can you shed some light on my predicament? - XXXXXXX

Was there any preceding history of trauma to the leg
Is there associated high grade fever currently or on and off. have you measured it via thermometer
For how long has this lesion persisted
Is the other leg completely normal
Have you had a history of DVT in your lower limbs
Is there any possibility of an insect bite, Is there associated itching and burning
