Question: I have a pimple on my pubic area and was wondering what I could do for it. I also have redness and itching on the two side of the pubic area. What would be the best over the counter cream to help it?

Brief Answer:
May be folicullitis, use bactroban ointment, upload picture to conform diagnosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HCM

I have gone through your query, based on the information provided, it might be folicullitis, which occurs commonly and is due to usually friction. But to confirm the diagnosis or would be better if you can upload the picture of it.

I would have treated you with bactroban cream, for local application and would have advised you to wear loose cotton undergarments and use mild soap, keep the area clean, with this measures you should be fine.

Hope this helps.
Take care

Is this for the itching on the side or for the actual pimple which is on the pubic area (I have one small one on one side and another one on the other side which is also a little blown up around it.) It is difficult to get a picture of that area.

Do you need a prescription for bactroban? I have mupirocin ointment 2% in my house. Is that the same thing?

I should not use anything for the side itching?

How long should it take to see a difference? How many times a day? 3?

Thank you for your help. So far, I used it twice but it did not get smaller.

Also, does it matter that the cream in my house has been around for about 1-2 years.
