There could be some infection at the treated area
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I have read your query and I have understood your concern.
It is a possibility that the treated area has developed some infection and is therefore the area surrounding it is red. A raw area, devoid of epidermis can readily get infected with bacteria. The only reason for which your were asked to not apply neosporin is because neosporin can cause an allergic sensitivity reaction in some, though not all. It has a 20% risk of causing allergy at the site of reaction. I suggest you to use a different antibiotic e.g either 2% mupirocin cream, if that is available Or else you may use neosporin.
Can you upload an Image so that I am able to assess the problem better. You may upload an Image either at "Reports Section" Or you may mail me the Image as an attachment at the following email Id: YYYY@YYYY with the subject lin as Attention:Dr.Kakkar.
