Question : My anal area is very red and secreating a snot like fluid. (I only have intercourse with my partner of 4 years) is this just irritation or something more serious?

Possible perianal abscess

Thank you for the query.

It may be just irritation and probably is, but in this area perianal abscess may develop. So it is better to see proctologist who can drain it then. It is not likely to be as std especially if you have partner for longer years. If there is swelling,fever and increasing pain then you see doctor as soon as possible. Otherwise,you can have so called sitz baths,apply steroid cream and rest.
