Question: I bent my left toe sideways to the right when my dog decided to bolt. It hurts and is red and a little swollen. I also heard it pop. Broken or out of joint? What should i do about it. It hurts when i walk and sometimes when im doing nothing at all.

Brief Answer:
You need to get x rays

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that you might have fracture or soft tissue injury. You should get x ray of the toe as soon as possible to confirm the diagnosis. If there is hair line fracture then you need to apply splint to immobilise this fracture. That will give you pain relief and it will heal fracture faster.
Even if there is no fracture then also splinting will heal soft tissue injury. try to put your weight on the heel and avoid putting weight on toes.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other follow up questions.
thanks
