Question: since having a relapse of depression on august 2014, lost 3 1/2 stone. My appetite is non existant. I have been diagnosed with extreme low blood pressure, and often people think I have been unsteady on my feet and accused of smelling of alcohol, when I have'nt. My Doctor has advised me that because of my extreme weight loss and lack of food, my body is producing Ktones. Is this the cause or any other factors

Brief Answer:
lack of body glucose can cause this.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome here.
I think your doctor has given you the right explanation.
When there lack of food intake, this creates an energy crisis resulting in fatty acid metabolism, and ketone body formation.
This leads to foul breath.

Another common cause of this could be diabetes. Please get your blood sugar levels tested.

Increase diet rich in simple sugars and fluids.

Keep a regular follow up with your psychiatrist for depression

Hope this helps.
Thanks.
