Suggest Treatment For Relapsing MS Along With Fever And Cough

default
Posted on Fri, 30 Oct 2015
Question: I have Relapsing-remitting MS. On Tues I came down w/flu like symptoms but no cough, no trouble breathing. I have been running a moderate temp that Tylenol helps. But my neck is stiff, pupils dilated, no appetite and very weak. My head feels huge; fever in the night leaves me soaked. Was thinking I need some blood work? I have not been exposed to anyone who is SICK but my goddaughter visited & she is in restaurant business. Happened after she left.

Brief Answer:
Needs a physical examination.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

Though, the symptoms appear to be of infectious etiology and blood investigations should include complete hemogram and workup for infections which are most commonly prevalent in your state/city in this season. However, there are some red flags associated with you-
1)neck stiffness
2)dilated pupils

Considering these,I suggest you to please a physician urgently or ER,to get yourself physically examined and evaluated.

Neurological/meningeal involvement must be ruled out by physical examination.

If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,
