Brief Answer:
Acute laryngo-pharyngitis...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query. I will try my best to help you out with this problem.

After going through the history, I do feel you could be suffering from Acute Laryngo-pharyngitis. The congestion in the throat would have spread to the vocal cords causing change in voice. Excessive secretions are produced in throat in order to relieve the congestion over the mucosa and this is a normal phenomenon.

Do not worry! With appropriate intervention this can be solved.

My suggestions to you are:

1. Drink plenty of warm water.
2. Do steam inhalation at least 3-4 times a day for 2 minutes. This reduces the congestion on the vocal cords.
3. Use povidone iodine throat spray or mouth washes to relieve the congestion.
4. Over the counter pain relievers will help in reducing the congestion and the pain.
5. Avoid straining of your voice and talk softly.
6. Avoid chilled food & beverages/coffee/tea/spicy foods/fizzy drink/smoking (if any)
7. If you do not get better within 3-4 days, consult your doctor for a complete evaluation and management.

Hope I have answered your query; I will be available for the follow-up queries.
