Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic.

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.
Retinitis pigmentosa is a dystrophy affecting the rods resulting in progressive dimunition of vision in darkness and loss of field of vision.
As of now there is no definitive curative treatment for retinitis pigmentosa. The proven medical treatment to decrease the progression of the disease is by use of Vitamin A supplements and drugs like dorzolamide or acetazolamide.

The alternative forms of treatment like acupuncure are still in clinical trial phase and definitive evidence is not obtained.
Acupuncture if given in a wrong manner can cause retinal side effects. However few earlier reports of studies have given positive reports.

Hence I advice you to wait till the final reports are available before going for acupuncture.
As of now assessment of the retina has to be done to assess the severity of the disease and to take supplements accordingly.

Hope the information is helpful to you.

Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
With regards
