Question: I've been having right upper quadrant discomfort, bloated with moderate abdominal distinction, nausea, vomiting and numerous loose oily stools that looks like it has I digested food. This has been for 1 week. I have been closely watching what I eat. I have not had any fried foods, vegetables or fatty foods. I've mostly been taking in cup-o- soup to give my belly a rest. Brief Answer:
Looks to be Gastroenteritis as the most probable cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/44 - symptoms for about one week - discomfort right upper quadrant - bloating with moderate abdominal distension - nausea, vomiting and numerous loose oily stools - looks like it has .... food (Digested/undigested - please clear this point)- watching what you eat - not had any fried o fatty foods or vegetables - taking cup-o-soup - medication history Lomotil, Compazine - wants to know thoughts ...

My thoughts:
As per the history your have provided, suffering for about a week with all the symptoms you have so well put-in indicates that you may actually be suffering from gastroenteritis.

I would advise you the following:
Stool test gives good outline for the probable diagnosis and direction for proper management if your Doctor goes by the reports more than the clinical picture.
Also tests of blood and urine.
Ultrasonography.
A course of an antibiotic (needs a valid prescription) prescription is both diagnostic if the symptoms respond well and therapeutic too.
Add probiotics, banana, activated charcoal tablets, yogurt if it suits you.
Have some diet once the nausea and vomiting are under control.
Clinical evaluation, examination and investigations by your Doctor will lead to a definite cause and give a plan for proper management.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
