Detailed Answer:
HelloXXXX
I can understand your concern.
I Would like to ask you few more details.
1. Since when are you having this problem?
2. Is it dry cough or wet cough(with mucus)? Is it continuous cough during night times? Does cough decrease after having food or drinking water?
3. Do you have gastric problem after food poison?
4. Do you have any throat pain?
5. Are you taking any medication?
According to the history provided, It could be due to Gastro esophageal reflux. Food poison can increase secretions in stomach which travel all the way to throat and irritates throat. So it leads cough especially when you lie down.
