Hi, 4 daya ago i had my ear drum retracted due to fluid in the ear from mucus build up,after allergies. I have been put on antibiotics and nasonex. I had no pain just feeling of fullness in ear. My big issues is ringing in my ear which came with the fullness in my ears. The ears seemed ok now however the ringing is still there. Reading forums on the internet have scared me into believing the ringing will never stop?

Hi my dear,

Thank you for providing more details on your current ear problems.
I am sorry for the severe ear infection you experienced. I am also happy to know that the medications you started are showing effectiveness against the infection.

The fullness in the ear and the ringing feeling are due to persisting fluid in the ear.
This is a temporary symptom in your case that might last for a couple of weeks. Then, it will subside hopefully as yours is an acute ear infection just recently.

The ringing might persist only in cases of chronic damages/infection of the ear, which is not in your case.

So, nothing to fear for now, just take the medications as prescribed by your doctor.
