Suggest Treatment For Ringworm Infection

default
Posted on Sat, 10 Dec 2016
Question: Hi,

Recently, I came down with a case of what has been diagnoses as ringworm by urgent care. I started using Nizoral shampoo on my groin and under my armpits 2x/day on Saturday November 12th.

The condition has only continued to spread and get worse. I added in application of 1% terbinafine hydrochloride cream 2x/day as well as spraying the affected area with miconazole spray 2-3x/day. I started spraying huge portions of my body and shampooing my entire body, including my face and scalp, with the prescription Nizoral shampoo, and have had a few new red patches pop up, especially on my groin.

The condition has gotten slightly worse and certainly no better with 10 days of treatment. How long does this take to go away? Should I be concerned with how persistent this case is? When should I start to get concerned? The person who gave it to me told me they contracted it in Malaysia - could it be something else? The doctor at urgent care said it was not an std.

Thank you,

XXXX
