Brief Answer:
Nasal block clears with cetrizine syrup

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for your query.

I personally think that children get cold and cough commonly and lesser the medicines better it is. Medicines can have side effects and unnecessary medication should be avoided. I dont know why montelukast and ambroxol have been prescribed. Does she get allergies regularly?

In similar cases I usually prescribe anti-allergics like cetirizine or chlorpheniramine syrup for runny nose and paracetamol suspension for fever. If there is any breathing difficulty, then either inhaler or asthalin syrup be given.

Now coming to the nasal block, otrivin is to be given in children with precautions. Avoid unnecessary dosing and prolonged administration for more than a few days. Usually nasal block clears with cetrizine syrup. Another alternative is steroidal nasal drops that are to be avoided in infections. So we are left with not much of an option.

Hope it helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
