Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern
By your history and description, possibility of allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis is more.
Best treatment of allergy is identification of allergen and if possible complete avoidance of it.
Other drugs are oral tablet containing antihistamines and anti allergic drugs.
Intranasal spray containing steroid is also useful for runny nose.
For eye symptoms start eyedrops containing steroids.
Wash your eyes with clean water 5-6 times a day.
Wear glasses when you are outside home.
Don't worry, you will improve with above mentioned drugs.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.

I really do not want to take tablets every now and then. I already take anti histamine when things get bad. Is there any long term solution for this? They day I get allergies the whole day goes waste as I am unable to concentrate on work. I would not want to have an important business day ruined because of allergies. I was really hoping I could get an answer from an Allergist.
Allergy is body's response to allergen.

Thanks for your follow up question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
I am allergist and working in the field of allergic disease in XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXXXXX
Allergy is not a disease.
It is body's tendency. It is actually inflammatory response when susceptible individuals are exposed to allergens.
So we can not cure allergy.
We can control allergy so that on exposure to allergen, symptoms are less severe and easily manageable.
And to control allergy, you need to take anti allergic drugs regularly.
Anti allergic drugs are oral montelukast, topical steroids like eyedrops or intranasal spray etc.
All these are time tested drugs with sure benefits.
Newer treatment options for allergy are
1. Omalizumab (monoclonal antibody against IgE).
2. Immunotherapy in the form of sub lingual immunotherapy (SLIT) or sub cutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT).
But these are very costly and not so effective options. These newer treatment does not cure allergy.
So better to take regular treatment with oral tablet containing antihistamines and anti allergic drugs, eyedrops containing steroid and intranasal spray containing steroid.
You need to take all these for atleast 6-8 months and then we can taper down if symptomatic control is achieved.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
