Brief Answer:
Depression

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that you are suffering from depression. You have tried St Johns Wort but it did not help. Unfortunately any of the over the counter products or naturopathic treatments don't seem to help with depression. I do think you do need a medcaiotn that will elevate your seratonin levels. This would be medications like celexa. lexapro or sertaline. These medications will increase your brains seratonin levels so that you may feel less depressed. Taking seratonin pills won't help because the stomach will immediately digest the medication.

In addition to medication I recommend that you read and follow through with a handbook or self help book called The Feel Good Handbook. Written by Dr. Burns. This is called cognitive behavioral therapy and will greatly improve you ability to overcome your depression.

In summary
1. depression
2. No over the counter treatments work
3. See your medical provider for celexa or other antidepressant medication
4. The Feel Good Handbook by Dr. Burns

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
