Question: I had a bike wreck a month ago and broke my nose with facial lacerations. My teeth were not damaged but there feels like scarring inside my upper lip and my smile is crooked. Will my complete smile return with time?

Brief Answer:
Need evaluation before treatment....leefort fracture, nerve involvement, steroids

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I hope you recovered well from what seems to be bad injury. I hope you had visited a oral physician immediately after a fall.

In this instance, I would suggest you to review back with oral physician for a check of your teeth vitality and also for any deranged occlusion. The crooked smile could be because of either dento alveolar fracture; any of the leefort fracture involving maxillary or mandible; or even facial nerve involvement leading to deviation of smile line. Besides the scar in the lip is due to healing by secondary intention. Did you have a resorbable suture placed at the time of your bike wreck?
You need to discuss about the probable cause of crooked smile. Treatment will be planned according to the cause.

It may resolve with steroid shots. You can discuss about it with your oral surgeon or plastic surgeon

Hope it helps ..take care..
