Question : hi my sister is suffering from some mental problems many of my family members says she is suffering from schizophernia we are concerning one family docter he prescribe her olimelt but the docter does not come to see her only my father use to visit the docter they says that her ilness is life long and varies dose of olimelt is prescribe to her 2.5mg, 5 mg 7.5mg 10mg actualy i dont know what is going on i want to know how to improve her situation and how will be the actual treatment i ma also confuse please suggest me...

Schizophrenia is psychotic mental illness. It is a chronic disorder and almost all patients need treatment for lifetime.Depending upon symptoms antipsychotic medicines are given. Olanzapine(Olimelt) is an atypical antipsychotic and useful in schizophrenia.
Treatment of schizophrenia must be done by psychiatrist.

I request you to convince your family members to consult psychiatrist for her problem.I am little bit surprised that even after 4 years why psychiatrist has not been consulted yet?
